No. 9: A year of completions, finalities, endings.
This year is a number 9. And a number 9 year is all to do with completions, finalities, endings. Cycles, relationships, ways of being – done.
And it feels this way, right?
I know for a lot of us, this year has dished out some mighty lessons and experiences. All for the greater good – of course – but while working their way to the greater good, they were pretty intense.
Towards the end of this year I read Glennon Doyle’s Love Warrior. One of my favourite bits is where she explains what a crisis is. She shares that the “Greek root of the word crisis is “to sift”, as in, to shake out the excesses and leave only what’s important. That’s what crises do. They shake things up until we are forced to hold on to only what matters most. The rest falls away.”
Shit happens. Life gets hectic. We get pulled in all directions. We fall out with people, we break up, we lose jobs, we get into financial strife and we move through life feeling inherently panicked and lost. And it’s goddam awful.
But, when we recognise these experiences as a crisis (for that’s what they are) we find what we’re doing is simply sifting.
We’re sifting to see what’s left over.
To see what gifts and treasures have been left behind.
Sometimes it’s hard to gain this perspective though. To be able to see through the hurt and disappointment, through the hardships that have come on our path. And it’s also hard to have the courage and energy to continue looking at our loose endings, the threads we’re resisting to complete.
But the thing is, this Year of 9, means whatever we don’t willingly look at completing – comes back, and generally with full force.
So…
I want to invite you to think about this…
You know if you’ve got unresolved stuff going on.
You know if there are some loose threads, attachments, things you’re not wanting to look at.
You know if there’s stuff you need some help clearing.
Stuff you don’t want to take into the new year with you. I therefore want to ask you to be willing to meet these things.
Because when we’re willing to, we find there are gifts, hidden treasures waiting.
If you need some help finding these, get in touch.
On that note, if you’ve got a mate or family member who might need some extra love and support – keep in mind a session as a gift. Could be just what they need.
All my love xo
