Doubt. What if it’s not a bad thing?
More often than not, we have a session when doubt is at the forefront. Doubt in self, doubt in life, doubt in the universe.
In class the other day my teacher said “Doubt is where the most amount of growth happens”. I perked up as soon as he said this.
Doubt generally makes us freak out. There’s an intensity to the vibrational frequency of it, that throws everything out of whack. Doubt usually means optimism, faith, that sense of lightness and connection – disappears.
But what if doubt is just the precursor to more goodness?
One of the greatest privileges of witnessing a client full of doubt is that I know things are about to shift for them, in the most magical of ways.
Over the years, I’ve learnt (am learning) to embrace the intensity of not knowing. To celebrate the doubt, to trust it’s taking me to the next level.
I had a dinner with a friend and he likened his life lessons to a game. That is, when the life lesson is finally learnt he then moves to the next level.
I like this analogy.
If you’re experiencing doubt, if you’re questioning yourself and the Universe with its ways, I’m going to invite you to bless whatever you’re experiencing. And you might be thinking ‘f*ck off’. Which is totally understandable. Take a step back from it though, reaffirm to yourself that something is shifting, that it’s changing form. That’s what the uncomfortableness of the doubt is, it’s growth.
According to buddhists, coming back as a human is the greatest honour, because it’s where we experience the greatest amount of suffering. This sounds kinda nuts right? But at the same time, totally doesn’t.
This whole being human thing – is so we evolve and grow.
Doubt is the catalyst for this.
And the best thing to remember, everything shifts. So if you’re reading this, trust it will pass. But in the meantime see if you can hold the doubt, and see it from a different vantage point.
It comes bearing gifts.
All my love.
