I manned up & this is what happened.

I got published on the weekend, that is Elephant Journal published one of my pieces. As I’m sure you can image I was over the freakin moon.

Moon

For months, and I mean 19 months, I had thought about submitting a post. But couldn’t. I was paralysed with fear. It was the same old same old ‘Am I good enough? Is it good enough? What if I get rejected? What if people think it’s shit’? Blah blah blah.

Then I manned up. You know when you get so over yourself you  think, ‘for goodness sake just do it’. So I did. I submitted it firstly to MindBodyGreen. They say that if you don’t hear from them in 2 weeks you haven’t been successful. I waited with baited breath for 2 weeks. Nada.

So with detachment & thoughts of ‘ah well I’ve got nothing to lose’ I submitted to Elephant Journal – within an hour they got back to me saying… It’s official: your words have somehow inspired our hearts and so we’re accepting your piece for publication.

I could barely breathe when I read it.

So, all this to say. Manning up is Key. Being Detached is also Key. And of course now that it’s done I’m wondering why I waited so long in the first place… Power of hindsight.

Is there somewhere you can man up?

Is there something on your to do list that never seems to get off your to do list?

What action can you take today?

A massive heartfelt thanks to all those who shared the post. It’s had over 2000 people read it. Which by some standards is not a lot, but I’m totally humbled that so many eyes have abosrbed, scanned, glanced over my words and potentially taken on board one my favourite messages to spread… Thank you.
